At Desert Torah Academy we synthesize Montessori philosophy with a new approach to Jewish early childhood education. Your child's first school experience has the power to inspire him or her to become a lifelong learner. We observe and listen to our students in order to discover what motivates and interests them. Our school environment is specially prepared to enable children to become active, independent learners.
Our Classrooms
At Desert Torah, children develop a passion for self initiated learning.
The Montessori-based method takes every section of the classroom and turns it into an arena for learning, addressing the child's natural desire to learn with a need for structure. By exploring all the areas of our classroom with the guidance of peers and teachers, students experience learning in an integrated, holistic way.
Chabad
Desert Torah Academy is a branch of Chabad of Palm Springs, and an affiliate of the international Chabad Lubavitch movement that is dedicated to spreading the wonders and rewards of Judaism across the globe, in a non-judgmental and inclusive manner. Chabad today is the largest and most dynamic unified religious, educational and social force in the Jewish world, with more than 3,000 centers in nearly 50 countries, on six continents.
Nearly a million Jewish children are touched by our schools, institutions, summer camps, and extra-curricular programs each year. Our centers everywhere serve the needs of all Jews, no matter their level of knowledge, observance or affiliation.
